What is that?

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20 : 12

Good morning, friends. I watched a video and it's too good conveying the following.

A gentleman reads the newspaper and his father sits beside him in the garden. The old man hears some sound from the near by bush and asks his son, "What is that?". His son turns around and replies, "It is a sparrow." A few seconds later, the father again asks, "What is that?" The young man gets tensed somehow, but replies, "I just now told you father. It's a sparrow." Then the sparrow flies and sits here and there making sound. He again asks, "What is that?" The son replies, "A sparrow dada, a sparrow" and he spells it out, "a s-p-a-r-r-o-w" and starts shouting, "Why are you doing this? I told you so many times. It's a sparrow. Can't you get it?" The old man starts walking inside …

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.Psalms 34 : 18

Good morning, friends.

Today after a small prayer at my office, I kept my Bible on the sofa placed outside my ODC and went to drink water. Later I forgot about it and came to my cubicle. After lunch, I came to know that I missed my Bible and I went searching for it. I didn't find it. I asked some of the house keeping people and they directed me to the security guys and they gave me my Bible. They asked me to fill up some details in the 'Lost and Found' register. It had one column 'Worth in Rupees'. I filled 450 INR against that column and came to my place.

Last weekend was a long one as we had a holiday on Monday too. My friends cum roommates went to their hometown and I was left alone for three days. The last day went on practice at my fellowship, but the first two days were very boring to me. I did all the works at my room by myself, but still had plenty of t…

The Lord says, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.”Jeremiah 29:11
Good morning, friends. I got the red colored text from the Internet and hopefully I'll send many from the same website as there are lots of contents in it.
A man felt weak and tired after a long walk. He rested under a banyan tree for a while. Looking up, he saw the tiny fruits on the tall tree.In the adjacent field, he saw large watermelons on a feeble creeper plant. He laughed at the contradiction and thoughtthat the creator was really foolish to grow the small fruits on the strong tree and the large fruits on the weak creeper.

After a while he fell asleep under the cool shade of the huge evergreen tree. Then a small fruit of the tall tree fell on his body and awakened him. Staring at the tiny fruit, he felt enlightened. He thought, “If the fruits of this tree were large like the watermelon, they would hav…

A memorable memento!

To the Pharisees’ question about divorce, Jesus answered, “Haven’t you read the scripture that says that in the beginning the Creator made people male and female? And God said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one.’ So they are no longer two, but one. Man must not separate, then, what God has joined together. ”Matthew 19: 4 - 6

Good morning, friends.

A Jewish couple did not have children even ten years after their marriage. The husband wanted to divorce his wife and marry another woman to continue his race and perpetuate his name. The wife loved him most dearly and did not like to part from him. The matter was brought before the Rabbi, who was very wise. The Rabbi told him, “As per your request, I can solemnize your divorce, but you must arrange a grand party for your guests on the day before the parting ceremony. It must be better than the party on your wedding day.” He readily agreed to conduct a part…

All He wants is you!

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.Ephesians 5 : 19

Good morning, friends. I got the following from the Internet and it does mean a lot indeed!
Once, a talented young singer sang this psalm in a melodious voice before a large audience. After the performance, there was a loud applause. The people praised the singer’s skill and clapped their hands in appreciation. Then the arrogant singer challenged the listeners to come to the stage and recite the psalm more impressively. He offered a precious prize to anyone who could surpass him in musical skill. There was a brief silence. Then a very old man slowly moved to the front using a walking stick. He meditated for a moment and recited the same psalm from the depth of his heart, displaying deep and sincere sentiments which touched the hearts of every listener. Tears rolled down from his closed eyes and soon the audience was filled with the Holy Spirit. When he …

Reserving a portion for yourself?

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Good morning friends. It was written by Reinhard Bonnke.

John had a double story house, five plus five rooms. One day there was a gentle knock on the front door. When John opened it was the Lord Jesus. “Please come in”, John pleaded, “I will give you the best room in my house – it is upstairs. Well, Jesus is a gentleman and said “thank you”. The next morning someone hammered against the front door. When John opened it who was there? The devil. “No” shouted John, “I don’t want you here” But the devil said “I’m already in” – and a big fight started. Satan poured filthy temptation on him, it was horrible. By the evening John somehow got the victory and threw the devil out. Then he said “wait a minute”. I gave Jesus the best room in the house, why didn’t he come to my rescue?” Jesus said to John “L…

Good morning, friends.

Martha told,“Preacher, could you stop by this afternoon? I need to talk with you." When the preacher went there, Martha conveyed, “ My doctor says I probably have six months to live as a result of tumor .” Martha’s words were naturally serious, yet there was a definite calm about her.Don’t be sorry . The Lord has been good. I have lived a long life. I’m ready to go. But I do want to talk with you about my funeral. I have been thinking about it, and there are things that I know I want. When they bury me, I want my old Bible in one hand and a fork in the other.”“A fork? Why do you want to be buried with a fork?”, said the pastor.

“I have been thinking about all of the church dinners and banquets that I attended through the years,” she explained. “One thing sticks in my m…

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.Matthew 5 : 13 - 16

* A lady invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" I wouldn't know what to say," she replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the lady said. The daughter bowed her head and said: "Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

Good morning, friends.

Once upon a time there was a Miser who used to hide his gold at the foot of a tree in his garden; but every week he used to go and dig it up and gloat over his gains. A robber, who had noticed this, went and dug up the gold and decamped with it. When the Miser next came to gloat over his treasures, he found nothing but the empty hole. He tore his hair, and raised such an outcry that all the neighbors came around him, and he told them how he used to come and visit his gold. ‘Did you ever take any of it out?’ asked one of them. ‘Nay,’ said he, ‘I only came to look at it.’ ‘Then come again and look at the hole,’ said a neighbour; ‘it will do you just as much good.’

We went to a prayer seminar last weekend. There we heard the speaker telling this. The Prodigal son had the relationship with his father even when he was in a foreign country. But he didn't have fellowship with his father. We know that he longed…

Deadly disease!

Be on guard against every form of greed; life is not in possessions.Luke 12:15

Good morning, friends. We have two stories today. :)

The first:

It happened that adog had got a piece of meat and was carrying it home in his mouth to eat it in peace. Now on his way home he had to cross a plank lying across a running brook. As he crossed, he looked down and saw his own shadow reflected in the water beneath. Thinking it was another dog with another piece of meat, he made up his mind to have that also. So he made a snap at the shadow in the water, but as he opened his mouth the piece of meat fell out, dropped into the water and was never seen more.

Now the second:
The greedy Midas asked the angel that he wanted everything to turn gold when he touch it, the angel granted it. He felt so happy when he saw whatever he touched turned gold. But when he was shocked to the core when his own one and only daughter became a golden statue when he hugged her.

Was it not pathetic to lose even wh…

Good morning, friends.
There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to the baker. One day the baker decidedto weigh the butter to see if he was getting a pound and he found that he was not. Thisangered him and he took the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer if he was usingany measure. The farmer replied, amour Honor, I am primitive. I don't have a propermeasure, but I do have a scale." The judge asked, "Then how do you weigh the butter?"The farmer replied "Your Honor, long before the baker started buying butter from me, Ihave been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings thebread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to beblamed, it is the baker."

What is the moral of the story? We get back in life what we giveto others. Whenever you take an…

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.Matthew 7 : 12

Good morning, friends.
A little boy got angry with his mother and shouted at her, "I hate you, I hate you." Because of fear of reprimand, he ran out of the house. He went up to the valley and shouted, "I hate you, I hate you," and back came the echo, "I hate you, I hate you." This was the first time in his life he had heard an echo. He got scared, went to his mother for protection and said there was a bad boy in the valley who shouted "I hate you, I hate you." The mother understood and she asked her son to go back and shout, "I love you, I love you." The little boy went and shouted, "I love you, I love you," and back came the echo. That taught the little boy a lesson that our life is like an echo: We get back what we give. Benjamin Franklin said, "When you are good to others, you are best to…

Jo John, a woodcutter, worked for a company for five years but never got a raise. Thecompany hired Bill and within a year he got a raise. This caused resentment in John andhe went to his boss to talk about it. The boss said, "You are still cutting the same numberof trees you were cutting five years ago. We are a result-oriented company and would behappy to give you a raise if your productivity goes up." John went back, started hittingharder and putting in longer hours but he still wasn't able to cut more trees. He went backto his boss and told him his dilemma. The boss told John to go talk to Bill. "Maybe thereis something Bill knows that you and l don't." John asked Bill how he managed to cutmore trees. Bill answered, "After every tr…

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Matthew 7 : 1-5

Robert Fulton invented the steamboat. On the banks of the Hudson River he wasdisplaying his new invention. The pessimists and the skeptics were gathered around toobserve. They commented that it would never start. Lo and behold, it did. As it made itsway down the river, the pessimists who said it would never go, started shouting that itwould never stop.
Let us see two people from the Holy Bible and their attitudes. I'm sorry for more red colored text today.
Noah - God saddened at the wickedness of mankind, decided to destroy all life. But he saw that Noah was a righteous man, and instructed him to build an ark and gather himself and his family with every type of animal, male and female. I watched a DVD which shows the first 22 chapters of Genesis. It pictured the life of Noah and the flood so beautifully. When Noah built the ar…

Spanking Father

He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.Proverbs 13 : 24

Good morning to you all in the matchless name of our Heavenly father. The following red colored text is available in "You can win" book.
A judge, when sentencing a man for robbery, asked if he had anything to say. The man replied, "Yes, your honor. Please sentence my parents to jail also." The judge asked, "Why?" The prisoner answered, "When I was a little boy, I stole a pencil from school. My parents knew about it but never said a word. Then I stole a pen. They knowingly ignored it. I continued to steal many other things from the school and the neighborhood till it became an obsession. They knew about it, yet they never said a word. If anyone belongs in jail with me, they do."
Isn't he right?. I guess you all would agree with this. So, if the parents allow their child to do anything without any restriction, then they are paving a …
